Woman's profane reaction to brutal winter left news anchors chuckling
Nobody likes having to shovel snow, but one elderly woman from Wisconsin didn’t hold back when describing how fed up she was -- and used a word that the local TV news station had to bleep.

WGN Morning News in Chicago found the perfect interview subject to convey the feelings of area residents who were dealing with a historic 2019 stretch of 34 straight days of precipitation -- even if they had to bleep her.
Back during the early part of 2019, the city’s streak easily surpassed the previous mark of 19 days, with records dating to 1871. In addition to all of the precipitation, the Chicago area had endured a lashing of Arctic air brought down by the polar vortex in as many weeks, a brutal cold snap that caused a rapid increase in ice coverage on the Great Lakes. The relentless winter was taking its toll.
So when WITI reporter Bret Lemoine asked Judy Ross, “You’re sick of this?” while was shoveling snow on her property, he wasn't quite prepared for her rather blunt reaction.
“Well, yeah, especially when I’m the only one here doing all this s**t,” said Ross, of Waukesha, Wisconsin. “My father used to say: 'I kinda remember that little curly-haired girl that loved the snow.’ And I said, ‘Well, she grew up. She grew up and she doesn’t want to do this anymore.'”
WGN Twitter followers and the WGN Morning News anchors saw themselves in Judy. The city's streak began on Jan. 11, 2019.
“There’s something really precious about elderly ladies swearing,” said WGN morning weatherman Paul Konrad as anchors Larry Potash and Robin Baumgarten shared a chuckle.
