Sixteen Gentle Yoga Poses for Cold and Flu Season

Now that fall is here, cold and flu season isn’t far behind. Of course, rest is key when you’re healing from illness, but some gentle yoga practice can give you a bit of temporary relief, as well. Like any other time that you’re practicing yoga, listen to your body. If it hurts or makes you feel worse, don’t do it.
Yoga isn’t going to address some of the more severe cold and flu symptoms. It’s not going to bring down a fever, alleviate chills or cure a sore throat. What it can do is help with some of the lingering symptoms from illness: headache, congestion and fatigue. I used Yoga Journal’s pose finder to look up postures by benefit, so you can find the ones that are right for you. The ones below are the gentlest poses listed for each symptom.
