REPORTS: Blizzard, Severe Storms Slam Central US

A strong storm system brought severe weather to the Plains and blizzard conditions to Colorado from Monday into Tuesday. Parts of the Central and Midwestern states continue to be impacted by the stormy weather.

7:26 a.m. CST Tuesday: A tree fell on a house in Corsicana, Texas, due to strong winds early Tuesday morning according to an NWS trained spotter.

7:22 a.m CST Tuesday: Due to snow and ice, inbound flights to Denver International Airport are facing up to 90-minute delays, the FAA reports.

7:04 a.m. CST Tuesday: Portions of I-25 southbound near Castle Rock are closed due to weather and accidents, including two jackknifed semi trucks, the Colorado Department of Transportation reports.

6:39 a.m. CST Tuesday: As blizzard conditions hit the area, 140 flights have been canceled at Denver International Airport so far this morning, according to FlightStats.

6:07 a.m. CST Tuesday: An NWS trained spotter reports up to 15 inches of snow has fallen near Ponderosa Park, Colorado, roughly 35 miles southeast of Denver.
