Milder air spreads across Britain to close the weekend
The dangerous storm surge and the polar air mass will gradually release their grip on the United Kingdom for the end of the weekend.
The departure of the depression responsible for the pounding seas and the arrival of milder air will allow both the snow and storm surge to ease across the U.K. into Sunday.

“The threat for snow will decrease into Sunday as a brief surge of warmer air will bring in rain across the Isles late in the weekend,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys said.
Rainy spells will wet much of England during the morning on Sunday. During the afternoon, however, steadier rain will lessen to showers in most locations.

Temperatures warming across the United Kingdom will mean that any lingering wintry weather will come to an end. Rain could still lead to slower travel, but slippery roads due to snow and ice are not expected.
While using brollies for outdoor activities on Sunday, residents will also notice a turn to milder conditions. Temperatures will generally rise 2-6 degrees Celsius (4-10 degrees Fahrenheit) above Saturday’s highs.

However, the milder air will quickly get swept away early next week in southern England, the Midlands and Wales. Temperatures will tumble back to normal as high pressure builds southwestward from Scandinavia. The high should prevent the return of wintry showers.
The high and its cooler air will remain south of the northern U.K., allowing the mild spell to persist.
In Inverness and Belfast, temperatures will once again flirt with 10 C on Tuesday, while highs in London will be held to around 5 C (41 F).
