India: Millions to swelter in resurgent heat wave from Delhi to Hyderabad
Following a brief reprieve from the intense heat, temperatures will soar again this week across much of India.
Many locations across central and northern India will face the worst of the heat as temperatures soar past 38 C (100 F) through at least Friday.
In the hottest locations, daily high temperatures will climb past 43 C (110 F).

The heat came back with a vengeance in New Delhi on Tuesday and Wednesday as temperatures peaked around 40 C (104 F) both days. The normal average high for early April is 33 C (91 F).
Similar temperatures are expected in the National Capital Region (NCR) through at least Friday.
The NCR will endure very warm nights to go along with the unseasonable daytime heat making it even more dangerous for people that are unable to escape the heat for several days.
People are urged to avoid strenuous activity during the midday and afternoon hours and drink plenty of fluids to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses.
The elderly and children are most susceptible to heat-related illness, especially when nighttime temperatures remain well above normal levels, not allowing homes to cool from the extreme daytime heat.
Additionally, unhealthy air quality conditions are anticipated over much of the country. The conditions could cause difficulties for those with respiratory problems.
More clouds and a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms may yield some relief from the heat across central and northern India, including the NCR, this weekend.
No relief is expected from the heat in areas from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Punjab into eastern Pakistan as dry weather and sizzling sunshine prevail.
Elsewhere, spotty showers and thunderstorms will offer the only relief from the heat this week and be confined mainly to southern and eastern India through Friday.
Even though temperatures will be lower in these areas, when it is not raining, the combination of heat and high humidity will still make it feel quite warm with AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures in excess of 38 C (100 F).
"The threat for extreme heat will diminish across much of the country, including Delhi, by this weekend," said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Jason Nicholls.
"One area of continued concern for heat wave conditions throughout April will be from Rajasthan into Gujarat," added Nicholls.
The arrival of pre-monsoonal rain and thunderstorms will limit prolonged rounds of unseasonable heat elsewhere across the country in the coming weeks.
