As Chief Video Meteorologist, Bernie is at the forefront of breaking weather coverage, leading the AccuWeather broadcast team through real-time reports and ensuring unparalleled AccuWeather Network coverage. In his 25-year tenure with AccuWeather, Bernie has been a driving force for the company’s on-air, web, and mobile weather videos with a large digital and social following. Bernie is a proven expert in breaking weather coverage, specializing in severe winter snowstorms, threatening rainfall, and extreme drought. Consistently sought out by national media outlets, Bernie has delivered breaking weather coverage on ABC’s Good Morning America, ESPN’s SportsCenter, NFL Countdown, and College Game Day, as well as FOX News, NFL Network, and the Big Ten Network. A Pennsylvania State University graduate, Bernie earned his degree from the university’s prestigious Meteorology program.
Bernie’s love for the weather began at age 5. Raised in eastern Pennsylvania, Bernie was enthralled by the massive snowstorms that ravaged the region. His curiosity about snowstorms and how they affect people’s lives has spanned decades, a proven expertise and passion that he now shares with AccuWeather viewers around the world.
When he is not on-air, Bernie enjoys spending time with his wife, Tyler, and their dog, Cocoa. He is a passionate Green Bay Packers fan and enjoys all things related to NFL football.
