3 dead after airboat capsizes in Florida
An investigation is underway after an airboat capsized in Florida on Monday, killing three of the seven people on board, officials said.

An investigation is underway after an airboat capsized in Florida on Monday, killing three of the seven people on board, officials said.
The Highlands County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded along with Highlands County Fire Rescue and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) to a report that an airboat capsized near the Kissimmee River with seven people on board.
According to FWC, the airboat was approaching the Kissimmee River from the Istokpoga Canal, and as it turned into a deeper section it began taking on water. The airboat capsized, sending all seven occupants into the water.
Four of the occupants made it safely to shore, and first responders launched a search for the remaining three. The three missing occupants were ultimately recovered deceased.
FWC is leading the ongoing investigation into the accident. The identities of the victims were not immediately released.
"The FWC would like to express its deepest condolences to the families, friends and loved ones of the victims," the agency said.
