Will Major Hurricane Dorian strike the UK next week?
Video obtained exclusively by AccuWeather shows utter devastation in Marsh Harbour, one of the first places in the Bahamas ravaged by what was then Category 5 Hurricane Dorian.
After striking the Bahamas as the strongest Atlantic hurricane on record at landfall, Dorian will now turn northward and track near the east coast of the United States before racing into the north Atlantic.
Dorian is the strongest storm on the planet so far this year and is expected to remain a powerful storm system into next week as it crosses the north Atlantic.
While the United Kingdom and Europe are not at risk for any impacts from Dorian through this weekend, the monster storm will take a turn toward northern Europe next week.

The NOAA-20 satellite captured this image of Major Hurricane Dorian's eye on Saturday morning, August 31, 2019.
A strong area of high pressure anchored over the North Atlantic, to the west of Spain, will be the key component to tracking Dorian and its impacts on Europe.
The high will act as a shield for much of Europe, forcing Dorian northward toward Iceland early next week. The island will likely endure a period of strong winds and downpours
After hitting Iceland, Dorian will likely track father east bringing gusty winds and showers to the United Kingdom by the middle of the week.
At this time Dorian is expected to remain far enough to the north that the United Kingdom will dodge the worst impacts from the storm.
Dorian will also be in a much weaker state as it transitions into a post-tropical cyclone, limiting the severity of it's impacts.
A continued eastward track will take the core of Dorian into Scandinavia during the second half of next week.
With impacts to Europe still more than a week away, changes in the forecast track and impacts are possible and anyone living in or visiting Europe during this time will want to monitor Dorian's track closely.
